Nigeria: local government intervention – impact in small scale farming

National Council of Local Government, department of agriculture, and Agriculturist for all Nations and International Society, gathered recently in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, for their 7th Annual National Conference and General Meeting on the way forward for small scale farmers across the country, who they said, feeds the nation. Yemi Akinsuyi, who was at the event, reports.

Small scale farmers, no doubt, are the suppliers of food to the tables of Nigerians. In fact, a report has it that more than 80 per cent of the total farmers, including medium and large ones, are small scale farmers.
